"Borrowing" from Other Religions |

Many of David's writings reveal beliefs that
were clearly eclectic or "borrowed" from other branches of Christianity. He made
no apologies for this, explaining: "After I got sick of the denomination I was in ... I went around studying them all, trying to find out which I could join and agree with! And I found some good in every single one!" [85] "We've got the best of everything! -- The best of the Catholics and the best of the Protestants! We've got the best of Mormonism, we've got the best of Pentecostalism. We're like a little bit of the best of everything all rolled together in one!" [86] "I took the best out of all these religions! If they've got truth, I take that truth! I choose the good and eschew the evil! Just because they have a few strange doctrines I don't go for, [that] doesn't mean they're all wrong or all bad!" [87] |
