WE SHOULD DISCERN THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES:

MAT.16:3 -- And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? [Can ye not discern the signs of the times?]

MAT.24:3 -- And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world? [What shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?]

MAT.24:39 -- And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [(Unbelievers) knew not until the flood came]

1TH.5:2,4 -- For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [Ye, brethren, are not (to be) in darkness]

2PE.3:3-4 -- Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. [Scoffers saying, "Where is His coming? All things continue as they were..."]

GREATLY INCREASED LEARNING:

DAN.12:4 -- But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. [Time of the end: Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased]

2TI.3:1 -- This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. [(Modern education:) Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth]

MAT.24:14 -- And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. [Gospel preached in all the world (now possible by radio, TV, Internet, world travel, etc.) ... then the end]

GREATLY INCREASED NATURAL DISASTERS:

MAT.24:7 -- For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [There shall be famines, and pestilences and earthquakes (Increasing in number and severity; famines worsened by world economic troubles)]

LUK.21:26a -- Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: [Men's hearts failing them for fear (unprecedented rate of heart attacks today)]

GREATLY INCREASED WARS AND VIOLENCE:

MAT.24:6 -- And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [Wars and rumours of wars ... nation against nation]

LUK.21:25 -- And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [Upon earth distress of nations (civil unrest)]

GREATLY INCREASED WICKEDNESS AND CORRUPTION:

2TI.3:13 -- But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. [In the last days ... evil men shall wax worse and worse]

MAT.24:3-5,7 -- But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [As the days of Noah were (corrupt and violent) so shallÂ…]

2TI.3:1-7 -- This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [Lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;]

MAT.24:12 -- And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. [Iniquity shall abound ... the love of many shall wax cold]

RAMPANT HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE ENDTIME:

LUK.17:28-30 -- Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man. [As it was in the days of Lot (rampant sodomy) ... even thus shall it be in the day when (Jesus returns)]

ROM.1:24,26-28 -- Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; [Uncleanness ... lusts ... dishonour their bodies ... vile affections ... against nature ... working that which is unseemly]

2TI.3:3 -- Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [In the last days ... men shall be without natural affection (See also Gen.9:20-27; 13:12-13; 18:18-33; 19:1-30; 2Pet.2:6-8.)]

GREAT FALLING AWAY FROM TRUE FAITH:

2TH.2:3 -- Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [The day of Christ shall not come except there come a falling away (apostasy) first]

MAT.24:12 -- And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. [Iniquity shall abound ... the love of many shall wax cold]

Mat.24:5,11,24 -- For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [Arise false Christs, and false prophets ... deceive many]

1TI.4:1 -- Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. [In latter times some shall depart from the faith ... giving heed to doctrines of devils ... will not endure sound doctrine ... shall turn away from the truth, and turned into fables.]

INCREASED PERSECUTION OF TRUE CHRISTIANS:

MAT.24:9-10 -- Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. [Ye shall be hated of all nations ... many be offended]

LUK.21:16-17 -- And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. [Ye shall be betrayed ... and some of you ... put to death]

THE MARK, THE IMAGE, AND ENFORCED WORSHIP OF THE BEAST:

REV.13:15 -- And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. [Image of the beast ... speak and cause that as many as would not worship [it] ... be killed]

REV.13:16-17 -- And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark or the number of his name]

REV.13:18 -- Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. [The number of the beast ... is 666]

REV.14:9-11 -- And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. [If any man receive his mark ... shall be tormented]

WHAT ALL THESE FULFILLED SIGNS MEAN:

MAT.24:33 -- So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. [When ye see all these things ... (Jesus' coming) near]

LUK.21:28 -- And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. [When these things begin to come to pass]

LUK.21:31,31 -- So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. [This generation not pass till all be fulfilled]
